Background. The authors analyzed examinations of living persons in the narco-logical and toxicological center of Saratov in the period from 2011 to 2014 in order to identify changes in the structure and dynamics of the use of narcotics and psychoactive drugs.
Materials and methods. The materials of the study were the results of examina-tions of living persons in the narcological and toxicological center of Saratov in the period from 2011 to 2014 for detection of narcotics and psychoactive substances.
Results. It has been established that for the taken period in Saratov there was a trend of a decrease in detection of opiates from June 2012, detections of phenyl-alkylamines and tetrahydrocannabinol increased. There was a slight increase in de-tection of drugs in younger people as well as among workers and students. Unem-ployed males often used drugs and psychotropic substances. The greatest number of positive results was recorded in spring and summer with a decline in autumn.
Conclusions. During the period under review the structure of drug use in Saratov went through some changes, mainly manifested in a sharp decrease in detection of opiates with increasing detections of phenylalkylamines and tetrahydrocannabinol.
